Advertising in movies is a type of hidden advertising, and often product placement is one of the main characters in the film. It goes without saying that the characters need something to wear, something to ride on, something to work for and something to eat, but sometimes the advertising is so blatant that it catches the audience’s eye and causes not interest, but rather disgust for the advertised brand.

Now, in almost every movie you can find hidden advertising, which in fact is not so hidden, by the way in children’s cartoons, it is just as often. The advertising itself is so diverse that we can say with certainty: the cinema promotes products of all categories.

Brands pay a lot of money to make their product appear in the frame, but after the movie, all the costs are not only recouped, but also bring tremendous profits. Film advertising is one of the most expensive ways to promote products, but it is also one of the most effective. The release of each James Bond movie increases sales several times over for at least five companies. And with each year more and more films are released, and consequently, the advertising we see on the screen is increasing.

Consumers, trying to imitate their favorite characters and heroes, buy merchandise of the brands their idol uses, go to the stores where the movie characters go. As for the cartoons, the advertising is not always so blatant, sometimes the company logo is replaced by a logo that looks like a trademark, thereby causing the necessary associations. For example, in the cartoon “Zveropolis” the main character Judy Rabbit uses the phone, which shows a bit of carrot, despite the fact that the brand is not directly specified, but everyone understands what brand is meant.

More often than not, car brands appear on movie screens because it is very profitable. Sometimes there are even several car brands in the same movie, which as if by chance are in the frame. The famous secret agent James Bond movies promoted new products from BMW; Ford, Hummer, Volkswagen, Volvo are seen in “Deal with the Devil”; the following cars were seen in “Transformers” in 2007: Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, CMC, Hummer, Pontiac, Porsche, Saturn, Toyota, Volkswagen. But a clear example of the longest and most multi-part commercial is the “Taxi” series, which is built around only one car, which acts almost as the main character of the film, Peugeot. The company itself, in addition to the fact that it has allocated a considerable amount of money to the creators, and also provided for the filming of dozens of their cars.

Also in the cinema quite often encountered advertising of various fast food products, but as for tobacco products, which used to be present in almost every film, are now found less and less frequently, in addition to the frame with a cigarette in the main appear antagonists. And director Quentin Tarantino, whose films are smoking not only villains, and even invented his own brand of cigarettes – “Red Apple”, which occurs in several of his films. Besides this, Tarantino invented Big Kahuna (Pulp Fiction) burgers as well as using the brands of products that ceased to exist in the 70’s: Fruit Brute porridge and Kabooom!

Advertisements in cartoons are just as common, except here you have to be even more careful than with movies. If a movie as it would transfer reality, the cartoons – it is often fictional characters who live in a fictional country, and, therefore, include real things in frames cartoon can not, but correctly beat and adjusting to the plot, you can advertise the product and a cartoon.
